Fast food on the go

Have temporarily relocated to my sister's place for the remaining of my holidays and guess who I've got for my kitchen experiments?? >:) Hahaha. So far, I have "created" some interesting dishes to accommodate my siblings requirements hehe.

All in all, most of the dishes can be prepared withing 30 minutes provided that efficiency and speed is applied :p I strongly believe that fast food doesn't necessarily mean unhealthy.

Dish 1: Wanton mee with pork dumplings

Tofu cubes to add variety to the dish:)

Longevity egg noodles~ it was challenging trying to pick out these noodle strands as they can really endure all my pulling -.-

Preparing the wanton mee sauce mixture~ oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, sugar, tamarind sauce, sugar, pepper, shallot oil. Proportion varies depending on your liking. However, the quantity of the dark soy sauce must be at least 3 times more than the other sauces:)

Herbal chicken soup with homemade pork dumplings! Didn't make enough soup as there was not much chicken bones left in the freezer :p

Tadaaa~~ Marinated mince pork with ginger, garlic, chilli, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, pepper. Blanched veges in boiling water and tossed noodles in sauce mixture:)

Dish 2: Mushroom and chicken quiche

Had just one piece of puff pastry left in the fridge so I had to cut the remaining dried-out pastry pieces into strips and arrange them into a criss cross method:) Brushed with egg wash (egg yolk and about a tablespoon of milk).

Fried about half of a diced onion, added the chicken bits (marinated in soy sauce, pepper and english mustard) before adding the mushroom slices. Covered with egg and milk mixture.

Uneven browning on the top as egg wash wasn't evenly spread. Must always remember to be meticulous with egg washes if you want to impress the guests ;)

Dish 3: Tomato base mussel pasta

Fried diced onions before adding the mushroom slices. Allow to caramelize before adding the tomato paste (infused with some Italian herbs). Toss in the broccoli pieces and simmer until broccoli is slightly soft. Add washed and cleaned mussels. Allow to cook until the mussels open up (let those juices flow!!!) before casting in the pasta :D

Dish 4: Roti canai with curry chicken and blanched vege

Frozen roti canai! Easily accessible and doesn't taste that bad. Caution, very filling. I would recommend 1 piece if you're a small eater and maximum 3 pieces if you have a huge appetite:p

My blanched vege in salt water and curry chicken with cubed potatoes~ Did not use any curry paste but instead, used curry powder and turmeric. Fried with diced onions and seasoned with salt, pepper and a bit of sugar:)

Well balanced meals served!! Bon appetit!
